DLF IPL 2012: Pune Warriors lost to Delhi Daredevils by 8 wickets in Match 31 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune

Delhi Daredevils after being defeated by Pune Warriors at the Feroz Shah Kotla have bounced back in style to defeat the same team today by a crushing margin of 8 wickets with 24 balls to spare. Daredevils needing a modest target of 147 were eased to victory vy Skipper Virender Sehwag who scored an unbeaten 87 from 48 balls with 10 fours and a six. Sehwag got the Man of the Match award.

Sehwag shared an 89-run stand with Pietersen who scored 27 from 21 balls with a four and 2 sixes. That partnership between Sehwag and Pietersen perished any hopes of any Pune Warriors’ fightback with the ball.

Virender Sehwag top scored with 87*Early on, Pune Warriors scratched their way to 146 for 2 in 20 overs. Opener Manish Pandey scored an unbeaten 80 from 56 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Robin Uthappa who shared an unbroken stand of 145 runs with him was too slow consuming 58 balls for his unbeaten 60 (with 6 fours). At no point of time did this pair of Pandey and Uthappa troubled the Delhi Daredevils with any serious damage. Daredevils would thank the spin twins of Pawan Negi and Shahbaz Nadeem who bowled 4 overs each and conceded only 22 runs each with their left armers.
