Hosts Kings XI Punjab stunned Mumbai Indians by a crushing margin of 76 runs at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Chasing 164 to win on what was a greenish pitch, Mumbai Indians folded to a paltry 87 all out in 12.5 overs with left arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt claiming 4 for 22 in 2.5 overs while the other bowlers played their part too in taking the wickets. The top score of the Mumbai Indians innings was just 17 which was scored by Kieron Pollard. Bhargav Bhatt got the Man of the Match.
Early on, Mumbai Indians asked Kings XI Punjab to bat first and the hosts managed to put up a par total of 163 for 8. It wasn't the best of batting performances from Kings XI Punjab as they got continuously rocked by Munaf Patel who picked up dream figures of 5 for 21 in 4 overs. Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for the hosts making 43 from 24 balls.
